Event Features & Exhibitions
- EFA Selection Screenings: This dedicated program features screenings and discussions focused on films in competition for the European Film Academy (EFA) Awards. Select screenings will host Director/Sound Mixer duos to unpack the specific collaborative alchemy that shapes cinematic storytelling. Looking ahead, a follow-up event is planned to tie into the official EFA Awards ceremony taking place in Athens in January.
- The PRO AUDIO SHOWCASE: This high-end exhibition gathers industry leaders such as Ambient Recording, Cinela, DPA, Microtech Gefell, Nevaton, and many more, with a special spotlight on the Zaxcom ecosystem. Acting as a direct bridge between global manufacturers and field experts, the showcase connects brands with elite production sound mixers, boom operators, and sound designers, who will also demonstrate their own custom setups.
- The „Show Me Your Soundcart“ Challenge: Twenty remarkable, Europe-based production mixers—with a special focus on Central Europe—will step into the spotlight. They will showcase the unique engineering and design of their custom-built mobile audio laboratories.
- The Practitioner’s Circle: Every mixer has a drawer of gear that is „perfect, but not for my current workflow.“ This curated space is built entirely for the community:
- Purely for Practitioners: No dealers, no salesmen—just real peers.

Advanced Workshops
- BOOM TAI CHI: A specialized masterclass bridging boom operating research (Atlas of Smooth Spaces/PEEK) with Tai Chi and mindful awareness. Here, movement expertise treats the boom pole as a natural extension of the body for effortless movement on set. By applying meditation and internal energy principles, operators learn to eliminate physical strain and navigate filming spaces with total precision. This workshop offers a unique methodology to maintain sharp mental clarity and ergonomic efficiency under high-pressure shooting conditions.
- Deep Dive: The Scientific Microphone Lab: As a hands-on follow-up to our previous microphone lab, this advanced workshop dives one step deeper by taking a strictly scientific approach. Co-curated by eminent microphone developers, this session goes far beyond the basics covered in April to dissect applied physics, capsule design, and pristine signal conversion.
- DOCU SOUND: An all-encompassing, practical workshop dedicated to the unique challenges of documentary audio and bag work. This session maps out best practices from the field, covering everything from agile boom operating techniques to deploying resilient wireless capture over complex RF technology out of the bag.
- The Viviana Cloud Ecosystem: A high-efficiency session exploring automated cloud integration for field recording. This presentation maps out the hardware and software ecosystem designed specifically for location sound recordists, demonstrating how to seamlessly back up and transfer critical audio data—including ISO tracks and Sound Reports—directly from your field recorder to secure cloud storage in real time.
- The Ambient Communication Network (ACN): An advanced briefing on zero-error synchronization. Discover the major breakthroughs of the ACN ecosystem, focusing on the total elimination of manual sync errors, a massive boost to on-set efficiency, and a radically streamlined post-production workflow.
